The castle in the Harry Potter movie is absolutely real and you can visit it. Not for the faint of heart Crying or Very sad

, but is a moving experience. Wink

I recommend this castle to anyone and also the other castles in the region like Bamburgh. AAAwwwwwsome! Very Happy

The castle isnt real, Its CGI Animated. The inside are shot at different churches around england, and the ground shots are shot somewhere in Scottland

Hogwarts was based on Alnwick Castle, in Northumbria England. It was used for several exterior shots, including Harry learning to fly, the area surrounding the Quiddich pitch, and an entrance leading to out of hogwarts to hagrids. You can visit - which is very exciting. The Great Hall is based on Christchurch College hall in Oxford, the staircase in front of the great hall is also at Christchurch college. The infirmiry is a building in Christ Church (can't remember the name just now). By Based, I mean that they used that particular place but enhanced it using computers.

I could not find any castle of Burnwick on google. Only Brunswick but that does look far from similar to Potters castle. PLease tell us where to find it!

I only know that the grounds at Alnwick Castle in Northumberland ([url]http://www. .alnwickcastle. .com/location. .php[/url]) where used for the outside setting of Harry Potter's first broom riding lesson.
