Does anyone know which castle was used in the movie "The Name of the Rose" with Sean Connery and Christian Slater?

Clositer Eberbach, a monastery in germany, was used in numerous scenes in The Name of the Rose - it is in the Moselle Valley of Western Germany - we visited this fall, well worth a trip

The Castle is on the Rhine River, approx. 45 min. drive from Frankfurt. The scenes filmed in this (castle) monastery were primarily in the inside of the abey. While the region has rolling hills, they are not as high as the hills shown in different scenes of the movie. This monastery is located in vyniard country of the Rhine.

Sorry, Cloister Eberbach is not on the Moselle, but on the Rhie!!!!!!!!!!
Again, Cloister Eberbach is not on the Moselle Valley, but on the Rhine Valley. It is located approx. 45 min. car trip from Frankfurt on the Vyniard region of hte Rhine River. Only the inside of the cloister was used for some of the scenes. From the courtyard of the Cloister you have the most beautiful view of Mainz, which is located some distance on the opposite shore of the Rhine.
