| I have been anxiously awaiting the Catwoman movie for years now. Ever since I saw Batman Returns and heard rumor after rumor about the movie, different people to play in it, different plots and now it’s here. It was a bit darker then I would have expected. A lot different from the Tim Burton movies that are more for family this is more for adults in my opinion. Gone is Gothem City, gone are all the normal things you would expect in a Batman spin-off really. I would have liked to see some guest appearances to tie-in but I understand It is not Salina Kyle. The casting is excellent. Berry joins a long list of female actresses that have taken the whip. Stone does a great job as a bitter aging ex-model who watches her cheating husband (Wilson) with hatred. He does a role like most of his others, the cocky pompous type he does so well. I loved the fact we got to see the origin of Catwoman, how she actually gets the powers. We just see enough but not too much of it to ruin the story. The entire plot of makeup was a bit weak. I know plenty of dumb women that would still loyally use the cream knowing the effects if they stopped. Figure It is better then surgery. Her moves are excellent, I would have liked to have seen where she got her outfit and learned how to fight. Overall I thought it was a great movie. The music to accompany it was wonderful, I am looking of the soundtrack right now. It is a great ego boost to women who love to see women kick butt. Definitely one to not miss! |
