Indeed, many castles claim the legendary identity of Dracula Castle. Obviously, there can’t be so many different Dracula Castles all over the world! The most regrettable things is that, while so many charlatans unfairly take all credit, the REAL DRACULA CASTLE, which actually DOES exist, has remained totally obscure. Sad

For instance, Bran Castle, which is normally given all credit for the Dracula legends, is in fact, as someone said in a forum, just a bogus "Dracula Land" meant to bring money. Vlad Tepes, the medieval Wallachian ruler who was born in Transylvania also known as Dracula, has only a tenuous link to this castle!!!

Hunedoara Castle, where Vlad Tepes was held incarcerated for a long time doubtlessly deserves the "Dracula Castle" name more than Bran, but is still different!

The castle that actually has the greatest relation to Dracula is an obscure, crumbling one called “Argesh Castle”, built at the order of the notorious Transylvanian ruler. The latter has a truly HORRIFYING HISTORY. And the place it stands matches the actual description of Bram Stoker perfectly!

I could advise two interesting links about this. Try the following link, which is the place where I have actually read most of these things about Dracula Castle. It's written by someones who's travelled a lot in the region and gives the most detailed description about all the misconceptions and fake stuff that I could ever find so far with a lot of comments and arguments!

To All here,

I saw on television the real 'Dracula Castle'. It's true the castle is in ruins. I don't know if it's still accessible, but at the time this person was there I guess it was. This person said his father or uncle had gone up to the castle years earlier and broke a leg trying to get to it. He never tried again. So he decided to try to explore the Ruined Castle and spend the nite with a friend of his and see if anything weird would happen.

Well he and his friend took along a Video Camera. They made it to the top of the hill where the castle is located, but it was very hard as it is a very steep incline. There was still some of the walls standing so they camped out on one of them where they could see down the hill/mountain from the direction they had come up. They both said they felt very weird while they were there. They said they didn't know why. They decided that one of them would stay awake on watch. And trade off after a few hours sleep. While watching down the hill in the direction they had come one of them saw a bright light coming from down the hill in the forest below. They watched it & video taped it. As the light got closer it begin to rise from the woods and travel towards the castle. They watched and video taped as this ball of light traveled into the wall below where they were standing watch. They stayed awake the rest of the nite and early the next day they both got their stuff and headed back down the hill. They said they would never return to the Castle again.

Do I believe what I saw? Maybe, Maybe not. But if I saw what they did and was where they were. I would go home and never come back too.
