Thanks for the link. I am not a middle schooler, but a teacher who is building a castle.

This is cool. Cool

I'm not doing a history project but I am doing medieval studies in uni Razz and wanted to write a piece of extended prose set in a castle, but I don't seem to be able to find that much in the way of realistic designs that contain all the features I require Sad . I need to find more about spy holes and hidden stairways, the thickness of walls, the plausability of secret passages Twisted Evil and so on. any good 'fantasy' castle plans you can think of that might have what I need?

Guest, I'd be happy to discuss design with you. I'll direct you to the best (real) castle book I've ever seen: The Medieval Fortress book.
A cover shot is here, please go to the misc2 page, I scanned a few interior pictures too showing the detail of the dwgs. The ISBN# is 1-58097-062-1

Here's a link to a review/purchase i found on it from google:

I also have fantasy floorplans hosted at www. .dragonsfoot. .org and there are a few free ones from www. .darkfuries. .com

I hope this helps.

so um, history major, thanks for trying, but all those websites -. Your years of college have been wasted, because a two year old could've found those sites. Thanks to the miracle of the internet, it does not take a degree in history to research a castle. YOU ALMOST GOT TO BE SPECIAL, BUT MAYBE YOU SHOULD JUST STICK TO PLAYIN WIT YOUR GI JOE-THE COLLEGE THING OBVIOUSLEY ISNT WORKIN FOR YA Very Happy
