I received a collection of small cheap castles from my sister - they are ceramic and I think she paid $1 each for them. They are adorable and I am sure they are replicates of famous castles but I have no idea which one. Is there one book or one source that has the most popular castles or has anyone heard of Ks Collection Castles. I keep looking through this web site but am having a hard time matching them up. Thanks.

I have the same collection, which was sold by the Dollar Tree stores about the time of your quote (waiting since 2002 for a response?!) What I was actually trying to do was locate K's Collection, the manufacturer, on the web. Instead, I've found this site.........castles, a subject dear to my sensibilities because of my attachment to Europe in general & Germany in particular, not to mention England. I, too, have been attempting identification of these dollar-store acquisitions. (One appears to be the Wartburg, associated with Martin Luther, then in hiding.) Also labeled K's Collection, "Churches Around the World" is similar. I have several of them. WHO KNOWS MORE ABOUT THIS LINE OF INEXPENSIVE LITTLE BUILDINGS? [/b][/i][/i][/color] -Edward II

I was just checking out 'castles' on the web, and came across your response to the small collection of castles from the dollar store.....I found your email address, and decided to write you.

I too am into castles, ceramic in nature, and have just painted one for my daughter. It came out so good, that I was thinking about getting the bisque for others, and perhaps painting only castles. I do not know however if there is a market for this. I do not wish to paint a replica of any in particular, I paint what I feel, and in any color I feel.....cameras do well for replicas.

Any advice you can give, please let me know. My castle now is 7 1/2 " tall, and about 4" wide, (give or take a bit)
