Hey there....if anybody wants to build a really kick@ss model castle they have to visit this site: www. .castlemolds. .com or hirstarts. .com. Bruce, the owner, makes these awesome molds that you can cast bricks from to make some really awesome castles or dungeons or fieldstone house and building or whatever. Check it out, there's no better way, unless you just build it out of foam core board, cardboard sheets, and glue. Also beaded or extruded foam board from Homedepot or Lowes, cut to shape, add sand for texture, some foam board, balsa wood and card buildings, some flocking on the base and there ya go. Hope all this helps.

Ok ppl, here are some good ideas of what to build castles out of... 1st oatmeal comes in some nice sized cylinders for the corner towers, or coffee cans also do the job well... For smaller towers try using canned goods cans, toilet paper/paper towel rolls, pop cans, juice cans, packaged salt that comes in the small cylinders, etc. You can also buy foam cylinders at your local craft store. For the walls I highly disregard using card board because it is not easy to work with. I suggest buying a few sheets of foam-like material. It is easy to cut with an exacto-knife and looks good. You can get both of these at your local craft store. I suggest building this on a thin piece of ply board, about 1/4 - 1/2in. in thickness... Now what should you use to hold it all together? I say tacky glue and a hot glue gun are the way to go. You’ll also find this at the craft store. Now this can get pretty expensive so try using as much stuff that u can find around your house. How do I know all this? Well because I'm building a castle right now for a lame school report. If you need any more tips or suggestions E-Mail me at GTStudd06@aol. .com. Have fun building! Cool

*an extra tip* For added detail, try adding model trees and clump-foliage around your model. You can get both for under 10 dollars if you shop wisely.

Go to Wal Mart and they can give you some good things that you can make a project on. For example paint, contruction paper, cardboard, etc.
But if you go to Home Depot then you can get things for higher level thinking like 10th grade castles. I know this stuff not only did I make a great castle but I have a lot of friends who made great castles also. My castle was made of shliings of the roof, metal tubes, styrofoam, foam and I used regular paint and spray paint to give it color. A friend of mine stitched his castle with different colors using his mother's help. He told the class that he got most of his matireals from Joann Fabrics. Look for "card models" on ebay and google. Many castles are sold as paper or card models for you to construct. Buy one of those to use as your model for one made larger out of more permanent materials. Also, loop up Exin blocks on ebay. They make great castles!
