I just got home from a week tour of Germany and Austria with my high school choir at Kamiak High School. We had a marvelous time. I remember going to this site and looking foward to seeing the Linderhof Castle you reviewed. It was everything and more. When we were there, it snowed and the castle grounds were beautiful. I will never forget how detailed and entracite the rooms were. We went to see the Grotto which was amazing...Coming back we all, (90 of us) slipped down the hill in the snow. It was such a wonderful trip....Thank you for putting pictures of this castle...The memories just flood my mind!!

Hi there, well your site is very impressive (lacks of some importent euro castles but still nice), but i was amazed to see how you use the name palestine, there is no such country nowdays and when the crusaders and the ancient people including the romans were building the castles in here ISRAEL my country it was called israel and there were hardly any arabs in here, btw why dont u have Israel in your list of country we got dozens of castles in here there were built much before the european ones and are also very impressive ,much more than the soryan thing u never even put a pic with. Anyway i think u should change all of the "palestine" to Israel and add my great country to the main list, i'm mad about history mostly local and european ones, my mom is a history teacher so i can send photos and information about our great castles and i'm sure lots of people will find our castles and our country very interesting,it is the holy land after all.

Lucy...
As you know I am one of the small businesses you so kindly wholesale your knives, swords and armor to: I must write this to let everyone know how much I appreciate the quality of your products. You can be very proud of what you offer, in quality and price. Offering your Toledo steel bladed knives and swords, I do not have to apologize to anyone making a purchase. I am proud to be selling the products from your Catalogo "Swords From Toledo."
Reading some of the comments of your website visitors, I believe many of them are conservation minded and thought they might like this poem I wrote it a couple years ago. Family Earth published it in their Volumn 5 1994 Edition.
THINGS HAVE CHANGED
Death once resided here
Floating oily on the putrid pond,
Breaking blackened limbs off tree skeletons,
Poisoning seeds casually windblown in,
And daring animals to visit him.
Now, after caring environmentalists
Rallied the neighborhood to action,
Newly planted trees are thriving,
Fish dart through the pond's clear waters,
And seeds are eagerly sprouting up.
As if on cue,
A turtle mounts a mossy rock,
Songbirds expectantly thatch their new nest,
A butterfly flutters to a berry blossom,
And I laze here daydreaming about castles
and days long ago lived in medieval times,
Among an entourage of swarming bees.

I was messing around the internet and suddenly my name came up. It was something about a castle. Fenis, what does it mean? I know that I like the medieval period. And Swords, shields and armor are of my interest also. I just want to know what does the name FENIS mean? Anyways this site is pretty good. Good resource for people who wants to learn.

It is wonderful to see a web site representing one of Greater Cincinnati's treasured landmarks. The castle holds many memories for me since I visited it as a child with my family many times during my growing years. I have since passed on that tradition with my own children and hopefully with future grandchildren when they arrive some day. Keep up the good work with keeping the castle memories and traditions alive.

Read about your site in the Houston Chronicle today and have been enjoying it for the past hour. Our kids are living in Germany, and we have been there a couple of times to see Neuschwanstein and other popular castles, but we are looking forward to seeing some of the smaller, not so popular castles this summer. Would enjoy seeing some pictures on the not-so-famous castles in addition to the popular ones. Very good site.

COBURG CASTLE ? Our favorite castle to visit in Germany is Veste Coburg in Coburg. It includes: weapons, armor, sleighs, clocks, lockboxes, coins, and furniture as well as hunting exhibits(such as bear baiting and wild hogs) and most interesting is Martin Luther's rooms & artifacts. This castle is a must but I don't find it on this site.

This is my first visit. I LOVE this site! I KNOW I'll be back whenever I can. I've been collecting souvenir castles from every vacation for the last 12 years. I love the symbolism of striving for the best by giving our best, as well as the interesting architecture and "modern conveniences."

Love the site! Very interesting esp. the for sale page!!!
Until the sixteenth century, my family owned a hefty proportion of the castles in England. Sadly, due to a couple of my ancestors' stubborn stupidity, we lost them and most of our lands. Fancy trying to stir up a rebellion!! And then having to flee into exile! Honestly!
Well, that's all I wanted to say really.
Keep up the good work.
Best wishes,
Nicole

Hoping upon digging deeper into your site's options to find more and more information on castles that may be close enough to visit at a reasonable cost...but will be thrilled for the education I expect to get. Hope to visit many times over...added to my favoites list immediately!!!

What a delightful and fulfilling site!! Thanks to all of the people whose hard work shows through the various depts that are available. I have traveled to a few castles myself and find myself "breathless" when near them! The history suggested by a castle's age alone allows the mind a flight of fancy to another time. I also have a collection of around 16 castles of various sizes and styles, various artwork that includes castles and my own photos of the ones I have visited. When at work, I keep this website on my favorites list, so each lunch time I can "go" to another country and another castle!! Lunch time goes too fast, but leaves me refreshed and ready to take on the rest of the day with a new outlook!! Try it!! Keep up all the hard work, you guys, thanks again for this site. (Sigh)....

I cruised the web and found this site , I thought it fun and informative for children . I then thought I would sign the gest book and read some of the comments about the site . It saddens me that profanity was used to trash the site , I am sure a (intelligent ) person could find more discriptive words than profanity to get there dislikes out to the world . I enjoyed the site .....thank you

I have been to Europe and love the touring of castles. But I have to say my favorite of all is the Scottish ones. They are not gaudy or to show offy. To much gold for my taste. Especially when the people in their surrounding area probably were going hungry. But I am still facinated with the architecture and placement in their part of their country

Nice site. I get a stiff neck touring castles..I LOVE the ceiling paintings! In your list for CANADA please do not forget the ROMANTIC CASTLE "Boldt Castle" located on the 1000 Islands. The government is constantly restoring this beauty.
Your site will feed my "wanderlust" for castles.
Our next tour is Loire Valley, and back to Germany and Versailles. Got your address from Women's World Weekly Feb. Issue.
If you have time check out MY website. When done I shall have my "castle rooms" on display. I took 3 rooms of my store and converted them to "castle" interiors!

I just found this page and really enjoyed it. I've always love castles and dream about them as I grew up like a lot of other young girls I'm use. Keep up the good work. I'll be coming back to see along.

Everytime something comes on the television about European or American castles, I tape it. They are so awsome & beautiful, & hard to imagine that, but it's true. Thanks for the tour, it was great.

Castles of the World is a great comprehensive guide to majestic castles. It includes most everything I have found on all other sites combined. Now I can reduce my castle book marks from twelve to one. More extensive history could be added though. Such as the Alcazar of Spain being the palace from which Spain was founded, from where the Spanish inquisition took place and Christopher Columbus got funding for his voyage to America.

Yours it's a very useful site, but why don't you have a more huge list about castles in Spain? There're so many... just try to visit the ones in Castille. You haven't time enough. Here, in Cuéllar's castle, there are dramatized guided visits, being a very interactive way to visit a castle. Nice and different.
